How did you get your start in PR?
As a journalism major at Colorado State University, I wasn’t quite sure what direction I wanted to take until I took a few PR classes and was hooked. PR combined my love of writing and storytelling with my natural traits of both creativity and organization unlike any other career I’d considered. From that discovery, I gained experience on the journalism side at the CSU newspaper and then at my first PR internship at a boutique agency in northern Colorado. I joined FIG as an intern during my final semester of school and was lucky enough to be hired on full-time after graduation as an Account Coordinator.
Favorite thing about living in Colorado?
By far, the plethora of outdoor activities and adventures right at my fingertips! As a Colorado native, I’ve grown up camping, hiking, biking, snowboarding and falling in love with nature. You can find me in the mountains nearly every weekend of the year!
Favorite recipe to cook?
S’mores over a campfire, fresh lettuce wraps or something simple but healthy in my crockpot (I’m a lazy cook…shh).
Favorite wine?
Gruner Veltliner (our signature FIG happy hour wine!) or La Vendemmia Merlot, discovered at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Little Italy during a trip to New York.
What is your favorite travel destination so far, and one place you really want to visit?
So difficult to choose! I would have to say Venice, Italy. It has historic charm, romance, architecture, the friendliest people, delicious food, gorgeous Mediterranean beaches…what else could you want? I’m taking another Europe trip in September and then I really want to visit New Zealand and Alaska next!
What are you reading right now?
Just finished “The Sex Lives of Cannibals” and “Getting Stoned With Savages” by J. Maarten Troost – so hilarious! “The Girl on the Train” is up next.
First app or website you check in the morning?
I usually check both of my email accounts, my calendar for the day and then the Weather app. Next is Snapchat for some comic relief from my friends’ stories!
